Military profession: T-72M4 CZ tank crew
The 7th part of our mini-series on military specialties presents the activities of the T-72M4 CZ tank crew. T-72M4 CZ tank is a comprehensive Czech modernization of the Soviet T-72 tank to a level comparable to 3rd generation tanks. This mini-series aims to acquaint readers more closely with a specific selected military expertise or profession within the Army of the Czech Republic. It should present the content of the activities of individual soldiers performing the profession in a comprehensible form. We would like to thank the Army of the Czech Republic or Ministry of Defence that they allowed us to shoot the series and we believe that our readers will learn a little bit more about some ACR professions.
Upgraded battle tank T-72M4 CZ is designed to destroy tanks and other armored targets, or and enemy manpower and against low-flying targets. It is armed with a 125mm cannon with a smooth barrel, stabilized in two guidance planes with a firing rate of up to 8 rounds / min and an automatic charging device. He is also armed with a 7.62 mm PKT machine gun coupled to a cannon and a 12.7 mm NSV anti-aircraft machine gun. It is possible to use a machine gun 7.62 mm vz. 95/98 with the original ammunition and NATO ammunition. The tank is equipped with a device that protects the three-member crew and the vehicle's interior equipment against pressure waves, radiation and chemicals. The tank has a device for overcoming watercourses by driving underwater, a fumigation device to create smoke screens for camouflage and a fire extinguishing device for extinguishing a fire inside the vehicle. Tank T-72M4 CZ is a comprehensive modernization of the T-72 tank to a level comparable to 3rd generation tanks.
The T-72M4 CZ battle tanks are currently awaiting technical evaluation (the contract was concluded on September 14, 2020), which is to take place by the end of 2025, but these tanks have already had their best years and the brigade would deserve new tanks.
