Česká zbrojovka made a significant impression at this year's IDET 2025 International Defence and Security Technology Fair. At the joint exhibition of the Colt CZ Group, it presented its latest products for professional users, the army and security forces to visitors.

The domestic premiere of the new generation CZ BREN 3 assault rifle attracted exceptional attention. This innovative model, which had its world premiere in June 2024 at the Eurosatory trade fair in Paris, was officially presented to the Czech public for the first time at IDET. The CZ BREN 3 represents the third generation of a proven and popular weapon platform used by armed forces in the Czech Republic and abroad.

The CZ BREN 3 modular multi-caliber platform impresses with its high accuracy, extreme durability, excellent ergonomics, and absolute reliability. All third-generation versions meet the stringent requirements of NATO AC/225 D/14 tests and are designed to function flawlessly even in the most demanding conditions – whether extreme temperatures, salt water, mud, dust or sand.

The weapon is available in two standard calibers with several barrel lengths. The 5.56 × 45 NATO caliber version is available with a barrel length of 7“, 11”, 14.5“ or 16.5”. The 300 AAC Blackout caliber version is available with a 7“ or 9” barrel. All barrels are cold-hammer forged, ensuring excellent accuracy, and their service life is further increased by a chrome-plated bore. Gas take-off can be adjusted using a three-position regulator, which optimizes the weapon's operation when using a silencer or in harsh conditions or when dirty.

"The CZ BREN 3 is based on the CZ BREN 2 assault rifle, which is currently the most combat-proven Western weapon on the market. Based on the knowledge we gained, we then considered certain improvements, which we subsequently incorporated into the third generation of the BREN," Radek Hauerland, external relations manager at Česká zbrojovka, told our editorial team.

The Česká zbrojovka stand also featured other new products, such as the compact CZ SHADOW 2 CARRY pistol, the stylish CZ P-09 NOCTURNE model, and the modernized CZ GL grenade launcher.

The joint Colt CZ Group stand, which also included Sellier & Bellot, 4M Systems, the American Colt, and a team working on the development of remote-controlled robotic systems, attracted a record number of visitors and official delegations from around the world.

Sellier & Bellot presented its classic portfolio of ammunition at IDET, including standard NATO calibers – 9 × 19 mm, 5.56 × 45 mm, and 7.62 × 51 mm. “In addition to supplying the Czech Army, the Czech Police, and other armed forces in the Czech Republic, we also cover Europe, including Spain, Austria, and so on,” said Jan Šimon, Sales Manager at Sellier & Bellot.

A significant event was the visit of Czech President Petr Pavel and Minister of Defense Jana Černochová, who personally inspected the equipment on display.

This year, the fair was visited by over 30,000 people and attended by more than 650 exhibitors from 34 countries, confirming the growing international importance of this event. Participation in IDET 2025 once again confirmed the strong position of Česká zbrojovka within the Czech and global defense industry and demonstrated the importance of close cooperation across the Colt CZ Group.
