The Army of the Czech Republic intends to purchase a total of fifty sets of M4 assault rifles within the framework of the tender "9 mm Carbine M 4 category". According to the required specifications, the rifles will be used for special tasks abroad and in the Czech Republic and for training with 9 mm calibre ammunition at shooting ranges and in so-called Kill Houses, i.e. buildings designed for live fire training in rooms. The total volume of the contract exceeds CZK 6 million excluding VAT, so one set will cost approximately CZK 120,000 excluding VAT.

The Army has the following requirements in the framework of the recently announced tender:

  • M4 type 9 mm calibre carbine with the possibility of firing single shots and bursts, with a length-sliding and folding stock
  • Barrel length 8" (203 mm), chrome or nitrided, (barrel must be marked with a serial number identical to the serial number of the weapon)
  • The weapon must allow the user (without the use of special workshop tools) to exchange the barrel for a shorter barrel (e.g. 4,5", 114 mm)
  • The weapon must be capable of exchanging the forearm for a shorter forearm
  • Effective range with 8" barrel min. 150 m
  • Weight of the weapon without magazine, sling and other accessories (8" barrel only, foregrip, folding stock) max. 3,1 kg
  • Removable folding sights, adjustable laterally and in height
  • Required weapon accuracy min. 4 MOA at 25 m
  • Ambidextrous controls - magazine catch, button to release bolt from rear position, weapon safety
  • M4 type weapon safety. Individual positions identical to those of the M4 type weapon
  • Ability to use conversion kit for Simunition FX ammunition. (Conversion kit not required as part of delivery)
  • Weapon must be capable of firing with suppressor attached

The above list clearly demonstrates the use of the M4 carbine's reliable concept, its use in training, where the financial savings due to the ammunition used is also evident. In addition, there is the possibility of using simulation ammunition, which further enhances the intensity and realism of the training.

The delivery of 50 sets, the price of which is not to exceed CZK 6 198 347.11 (VAT excluded), should have the following equipment (scope of one set):
