In recent days, the international exercise Federated Cloud 2026 took place in the Czech Republic, focusing primarily on testing NATO communication and information systems and data sharing. As part of this exercise, the TITUS 6x6 KOVVŠ (wheeled armored command and staff vehicle) units are undergoing accreditation. The KOVVŠ vehicle is the main component of the command post and provides the staff with comprehensive services to ensure command and control of units.

Accreditation is the first step toward acquiring knowledge and capabilities, particularly with regard to the ongoing third phase of the procurement of KOVVŠ M2 vehicles, which significantly enhance C4ISTAR capabilities at command posts. This platform is conceptually based on the KOVVŠ/M1 TITUS version, of which the Ministry of Defense ordered six units for the Czech Armed Forces as early as 2017.

For the full integration of the new KOVVŠ/M2 vehicle into NATO structures, it is necessary to carry out its accreditation, which will be based on the experience gained during the ongoing accreditation of the KOVVŠ M1 vehicle. The Federated Cloud 2026 exercise represented one of the key steps toward achieving full interoperability of this system.

While the TITUS platform itself is undergoing only limited structural changes, the interior equipment—particularly the electronic and communication systems of the M2 version—is undergoing a major modernization. The new variant will offer several new capabilities reflecting current security threats. It features more robust communication equipment in line with the architecture of the Czech Army’s Tactical Radio Communication System, including the ability to distribute imagery from unmanned aerial vehicles between units in the field and command elements.

A key feature of the KOVVŠ/M2 vehicles is their full-fledged C4ISTAR capabilities, supplied by the Czech company Eldis. This system enables effective real-time command and control of units and significantly enhances situational awareness and the protection of deployed soldiers.

The new generation of TITUS 6x6 KOVVŠ vehicles will also feature the implementation of artificial intelligence elements, advanced logistics, and the ability to analyze large volumes of battlefield data, as well as significantly enhanced protection against unmanned aerial vehicles.
