The Danish Ministry of Defense has extended its contract with Colt Canada for the supply of C8 MRR rifles
In 2025, Colt CZ Group announced that its subsidiary Colt Canada had signed a major contract with the Danish Defense Acquisition and Logistics Organization (DALO) to supply 26,000 C8 MRR (Modular Rail Rifle) rifles. The Danish Ministry of Defense has now exercised a contract option and expanded the entire program to more than 50,000 rifles for the Danish Armed Forces and Home Guard units. Deliveries under this program are already underway based on a contract signed in the summer of 2025.
"Colt Canada has been supplying the Danish Armed Forces with reliable, battle-proven weapons for more than 30 years. The contract itself and its current extension are testament to our long-standing partnership. I am proud that Colt Canada is contributing to the safety and protection of Danish soldiers at home and abroad," said Sean Congdon, President and CEO of Colt Canada.
Production of the C8 MRR continues at Colt Canada's manufacturing facility in Ontario, Canada, helping to maintain domestic expertise in small arms and strengthen the capabilities of NATO allies.
The C8 MRR rifle is part of Colt Canada's family of small arms, combining modularity, accuracy, and durability to meet the operational requirements of today's armed forces. With this contract, Colt Canada reaffirms its role as a trusted NATO partner and continues its mission to provide cutting-edge solutions that enhance the safety and effectiveness of allied forces. Colt Canada also supplies this improved rifle design to other military customers in Western Europe based on their demand.
